What happens if a visa application is rejected?

Last updated: May 15, 2026

If an Employment Pass application is rejected by the Immigration Department, MalayHire will:

  • Notify you of the rejection and share the stated grounds (where provided by the Immigration Department)
  • Review the rejection reason and advise whether a resubmission is likely to succeed
  • Assist in preparing a resubmission with additional supporting documents or role justification if grounds for refusal can be addressed

It is important to note that:

  • Government fees paid to the Immigration Department are non-refundable regardless of the outcome
  • The Immigration Department does not always provide detailed rejection reasons
  • Some rejections are based on localisation quotas or sector-level policies that cannot be appealed

MalayHire will be transparent about the likelihood of a successful resubmission before incurring additional fees. In cases where EP approval is unlikely, we will explore alternative arrangements such as a Professional Visit Pass or remote working arrangements while a longer-term solution is found.
